BAIRD ACCEPTS NCAA OFFER FROM UTICA
Huntsville Otters defenceman Mike Baird (photo credit - Debbie Bradley Photography/Huntsville Otters) has confirmed his commitment to play for the Utica College Pioneers beginning with the 2011-12 in the ECAC West - Division III.
Gary Heenan, Head Coach of the Pioneers, had this to say about Mike joining their squad, "We are very excited to have Mike Baird join the Pioneer Family. We have known Mike and watched him play over the past three seasons. He is puck moving defenceman that is very responsible in his own end. We know he will have a bright hockey future at Utica College. More impressive is his character. Mike is a yes sir- no sir type. Mike also performs well in the classroom and loves the weightroom. We are lucky to have such an outstanding young man."
Before making the jump to NCAA hockey, Baird will help his team as they compete at the upcoming Dudley-Hewitt Cup for a chance to earn a berth at the 2011 RBC Cup, National Junior 'A' Championship.
