Aurora Tigers forward Chad Bennett (photo credit - Craig Campbell/HHOF) has confirmed his commitment to join the State University of Fredonia Blue Devils beginning with the 2012-13 SUNYAC season.

The 5'10", 170 lbs. native of Burlington, Ontario recently completed his third OJHL season after spending the previous two and a half years as a member of the Brampton Capitals organization.  Bennett would join the Caps as an 18-year old in 2009-10 and notch a respectable 16 goals and 31 points as a rookie, following that up last season with 22 goals and 49 points in 50 regular season games played.

He would be traded to the Tigers midway through this season and despite a slight dip in his offensive production would still lead the club in scoring with 41 points in 47 games, while being named runner-up for the North-West Conference Gongshow Gear Player-of-the-Month in December.  He continued his great play during the playoffs, leading Aurora in scoring with nine points before they fell to the eventual league champions from Stouffville.

Fredonia State Head Coach Jeffrey Meredith had this to say about Chad, "The thing that we love about Chad Bennett is that first and foremost, he is a first class young man.  He is exactly that combination of serious student and dedicated hockey player, perfect for us at Fredonia.  We like his work ethic and his professional approach to getting better as a player.  Chad will be a great addition to our program."

Congratulations to Chad and best of luck at the next level!
