January 8, 2018, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Toronto Patriots centre Dante Spagnuolo (Photo by Andy Corneau / OJHL Images) has been named the Kewl South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for December after accumulating 22 points in 12 games.

In his second season with the Patriots, the 19-year-old has become an assist machine, scoring 15 times and assisting on 46 Patriot goals. Twenty of his 22 points last month were assists. He opened December with a four-assist game against Milton and finished the month by assisting on all of the Patriot goals in a 6-1 decision over Orangeville on New Year's Eve. He is second in the league in assists (46) and third in scoring (61).

After his minor midget season with the York-Simcoe Express, the Newmarket resident played two years of midget AAA with the Richmond Hill Coyotes, tallying campaigns of 63 and then 90 points.

He played seven games as a midget affiliate with the OJHL’s Aurora Tigers in 2015-16 and one game the next year with the Trenton Golden Hawks before joining the Patriots.

Adam Tretowicz of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres was runner-up as the South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for the second consecutive month. The Baldwinsville, NY, native had five goals and six assists to lead the team – and tie for tops in the West Division – with 11 points.
