March 8, 2023, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that the Toronto Jr. Canadiens are the 2022-23 recipients of the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy. The award has been presented annually to the regular season champions of the 22-team OJHL since 2018.

It’s the second straight Brant Snow for the Downsview-based team, which also won the South-East Conference title this season.

The Jr. Canadiens finished the regular season with 94 points, five more than the next closest team, the North-West Conference regular season champion Collingwood Blues.

The Jr. Canadiens will have home-ice advantage throughout the 2022-23 playoffs. The OJHL postseason begins tonight with games scheduled in three of the eight first-round series – including the Jr. Canadiens at home tonight to their crosstown rivals, the North York Rangers.

“The OJHL is proud to honour the legacy of Brant Snow and his dedication to the OJHL through this prestigious award,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy.  “The Toronto Jr Canadiens organization continue to be leaders within the OJHL and Junior A hockey within the country, which is evident with winning the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy for the second year in a row”

Mr. Snow, the long-time governor and president of North York’s OJHL franchise, passed away six years ago. Mr. Snow also spent half a century as the driving force behind the Goulding Park Hockey Association. In a motion of condolence, the City of Toronto called him, “an extraordinary Willowdale resident who set the standard for sports volunteers across the city.”
