Team East Featured Player - Nov. 29
Playing on the top line throughout the 2010 World Junior ‘A’ Challenge made many NHL scouts take notice of the Georgetown Raiders’ Scott Wilson (photo credit - Andy Devlin/Hockey Canada Images). His hard-nosed play with a physical edge, combined with some clutch scoring, including two goals in the gold medal game, shot him up the OJHL draft eligible depth charts and earned a selection to represent Team East at the 2010 CJHL Prospect Games to be held on December 7-8 in Dauphin, Manitoba.
Currently tied for 13th in OJHL scoring with 43 points and sitting 8th overall with 30 assists, Wilson and his Team Canada East teammates would capture the silver medal in Penticton, B.C., following a dramatic 6-4 loss to the defending champion Team USA in the final. The Raiders captain would tie for 3rd overall in tournament scoring with six points and earn Player-of-the-Game honours in the gold medal game for Canada. Perhaps most importantly, he helped lead Team Canada East to a 2nd place finish, ahead of their rivals from the West for the first-time in tournament history.
